Abstract: | Açailândia is considered one of the fastest growing cities in Maranhão in terms of population. Despite the great economic potential it has a track record since its emancipation from interrupted terms, this has resulted in unfinished projects. Thus, this paper aims to analyze the perspective of communication professionals on the incomplete terms of the mayors of the city of Açailândia - MA. The importance of researching on the topic addressed is to generate knowledge on the subject, in addition to developing a critical view and deepening the relevant aspects of the topic discussed and its connections with corruption, understanding in which context it arises. At first, a bibliographical research was carried out, which consisted of consulting books and scientific articles focused on the political process of Açailândia and its historical path. Also, structured interviews were carried out in 2020 during the covid-19 pandemic, with three broadcasters linked to political communication. Based on the interviewees' statements, it is clear that there is great interest in the press about the troubled moments in the local political scenario. During these periods, information flowed in a rapid flow, with great coverage to reach the largest audience in the shortest time possible. Based on what was said in the interviews, most of the complaints made by the press are classified as declaratory journalism, which is the practice of producing journalistic stories based only on the statements of the sources of information. All respondents had sources within the parties, political committees that always updated them on what was going on. |
