| Abstract: | Resumo. |
| Description: | Summary. Fixed an integer k ≥ 1, In [1], Levine considers the dynamics induced by the function f(z) = z k on the unit circle S 1 and proved that P m|n µ(n/m)Nm is divisible by n, therefore , generalizing Fermat's little theorem. The notation Nm indicates the number of fixed points of f m in S 1 and µ is the Möbius function. At the same time, the author leaves an open question: given a sequence of non-negative (Nm)m integers, is there any function f that realizes this sequence and satisfies the divisibility criterion? In this article we revisit Euler's well-known theorem using Chebyshev's polynomials and answer Levine's question in the negative with an argument based on Sharkovsky's theorem. |
