| Abstract: | Atualmente, festas religiosas vêm tornando-se importantes fenômenos de natureza cultural e socioeconômicas. O turismo religioso passa por transformações contínuas. O peregrino tem procurado incentivos adicionais para fazer uma viagem e é por isso que as comunidades religiosas estão oferecendo cada vez mais estruturas, como, segurança, comércio e acolhimento de bem estar com melhores estruturas nas paróquias e nas cidades como um todo. Em quase toda região Nordeste do Brasil há uma movimentação significativa de peregrinos, decorrente do desenvolvimento significativo de festa religiosas, como ocorre na região do Baixo Parnaíba Maranhense. A análise apresentada neste estudo busca compreender os diferentes impactos gerados pela festa do padroeiro de São Bernardo na visão dos organizadores do evento. Utilizou se como metodologia a observação sistemática da movimentação do público no período festivo e aplicação de questionários para uma análise qualitativa dos dados. Como resultados, os índices evidenciaram os impactos que o turismo religioso trouxe para o município e as consequências disso. Espera-se com o estudo, contribuir para pesquisas empíricas sobre turismo religioso na cidade. |
| Description: | Currently, religious festivals have become important phenomena of a cultural and socioeconomic nature. Religious tourism undergoes continuous transformations. The pilgrim has been looking for additional incentives to make a trip and that is why religious communities are offering more and more structures, such as security, commerce and welfare with better structures in parishes and cities as a whole. In almost the entire northeastern region of Brazil, there is a significant movement of pilgrims, due to the significant development of religious festivals, as occurs in the region of Baixo Parnaíba Maranhense. The analysis presented in this study seeks to understand the different impacts generated by the feast of the patron saint of São Bernardo in the view of the organizers of the event. It was used as methodology, systematic observation of the movement of the public in the festive period and application of questionnaires for a qualitative analysis of the data. As a result, the indices showed the impacts that religious tourism brought to the municipality and the consequences of this. The study is expected to contribute to empirical research on religious tourism in the city. |
