| Abstract: | RESUMO A terminação de bovinos em confinamento é uma atividade altamente especializada, onde os animais devem ganhar mais peso em menor período de tempo. Esse sistema proporciona várias vantagens, porém, deve ser feita análises detalhadas devido ao alto custo de produção. Foi o objetivo com o presente trabalho avaliar os indicadores zootécnicos de um confinamento com bovinos no Maranhão. O estudo teve abordagem quantitativa, por meio de dados coletados por monitoramento realizado em uma fazenda de corte na região oeste maranhense. Os dados foram tratados estatisticamente por meio de análise de variância para os parâmetros de idade e ganho médio de peso diário (GMD) e demais resultados apenas estatísticas descritivas. Foi possível observar que os resultados de ganhos médios diários (GMD) entre os bovinos deste confinamento não foram diferentes entre si (P>0,05), segundo a idade e peso corporal de entrada. Os GMD foram de 1,47 kg em média. |
| Description: | ABSTRACT The finishing cattle in confinement is a highly specialized activity, where animals must gain more weight in a shorter period of time. This system has several advantages, but detailed analyzes must be carried out due to the high production cost. The objective of this work was to evaluate the zootechnical indicators of a cattle confinement in Maranhão. The study had a quantitative approach, using data collected through monitoring carried out on a beef farm in the western region of Maranhão. The data were treated statistically using analysis of variance for the parameters age and average daily weight gain (ADG) and the other results were just descriptive statistics. It was possible to observe that the results of average daily gains (ADG) among the cattle in this confinement were not different from each other (P>0.05), according to their age and body weight at entry. The GMD was 1.47 kg on average. |
