Estudo de caso de uma edificação histórica em São Luís – MA

Abstract

RESUMO: Este artigo descreve um estudo de caso a respeito das patologias estruturais do Casarão Arquivo Público do Maranhão, um edifício muito importante e com muitas histórias e cultura para a região. Através de um exame minucioso e de registros fotográficos, foram identificadas diferentes manifestações patológicas, como trincas, fissuras, rachaduras, infiltrações, desplacamento e deslocamento de revestimentos, desbotamentos e bolores. O objetivo desta pesquisa é identificar as possíveis causas destes problemas, assim como, citar algumas instruções práticas para a proteção do casarão. Além de contribuir para o desenvolvimento de políticas públicas externas para a conservação e restauração dos bens culturais.__ABSTRACT: This article describes a case study on the structural pathologies of the Casarão Arquivo Público do Maranhão, a very important building with a wealth of history and culture for the region. Through a detailed examination and photographic records, different pathological manifestations were identified, such as cracks, fissures, leaks, peeling and displacement of coatings, fading and mold. The objective of this research is to identify the possible causes of these problems, as well as to cite some practical instructions for the protection of the mansion. In addition, it contributes to the development of external public policies for the conservation and restoration of cultural assets.
