Os resultados fornecem subsídios para futuras pesquisas e para o fortalecimento da enfermagem digital.__ABSTRACT Introduction: The Fourth Industrial Revolution has driven the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare, transforming nursing practice and training. Given the exponential growth of publications, it is necessary to map the structure and evolution of this field of knowledge. Objective: To conduct a bibliometric analysis of scientific production on the use of artificial intelligence in nursing from 2000 to 2024. Methodology: A descriptive and analytical bibliometric study was conducted, collecting data from the Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed/MEDLINE databases. Full articles in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, published between 2000 and 2024, that directly addressed the use of AI in nursing were included. The analysis was conducted using Bibliometrix software (Biblioshiny interface), employing indicators of production, collaboration, and content. Results: 409 documents distributed across 166 journals were retrieved, with the participation of 1,518 authors and an annual growth rate of 13.36%. Incipient production was observed between 2000 and 2014, a slight increase from 2015 onwards, and significant growth from 2019, peaking at 147 publications in 2024. The cumulative growth curve and projection (R²=0.951) indicate a continuous upward trend until 2029. Columbia University (USA) was the most productive institution (51 documents), and the journal CIN: Computers, Informatics Nursing led the publications (25 articles). The most frequent keywords were "artificial intelligence" (n=171), "nursing" (n=84), and "machine learning" (n=59), with the recent emergence of terms such as "deep learning," "natural language processing," and "ChatGPT." International collaboration is polarized between the United States and China, with reduced participation from Brazil. Conclusion: Scientific production on AI in nursing is rapidly expanding, with the consolidation of centers of excellence, thematic diversification, and a transition to more sophisticated clinical and educational applications. The gaps identified include low South-South collaboration, the need for specific training in digital skills, and addressing ethical and regulatory challenges. The results provide support for future research and for strengthening digital nursing. |
